About Marie Curie
Marie Curie is the UK’s leading end of life charity. We’ve been providing expert care for 75 years and we’re the UK’s largest charitable funder of end of life research. Over the next five years and beyond, our mission is to close the gap in end of life care. Between now and 2028 we'll design and deliver services providing the best possible care and support to people living with any terminal illness, and those close to them. And we'll play a leading role in shaping the end of life system across the UK – so everyone has access to the end of life care and support they need. Read on to find out more about Marie Curie’s nursing jobs & careers development opportunities, how we’ll support you, as well as a summary of our pay & salary levels for nurses and healthcare assistants.
Marie Curie’s services
Marie Curie is here for anyone with an illness they’re likely to die from, and those close to them. This includes Alzheimer’s (and other forms of dementia), heart, liver, kidney and lung disease, motor neurone disease, Parkinson’s and advanced cancer.
Whether someone has months, weeks or days left to live, we are there for them with clinical and emotional care. Supporting them to be comfortable, free of pain and other symptoms and able to live the best life they can to the end.
We care for people at home and in our Hospices, as well as giving practical and emotional support over the phone and online.

Our patient care delivery
We work in partnership with other professionals involved in the care of our patients - such as GPs, district nurses, hospital consultants and clinical nurse specialists. Donations pay for 51% of our Hospice at Home services and 64% of what it costs to run our Hospices, with the rest coming from the NHS.
The care and support we provide is highly valued by the people we care for and their loved ones, but at present we are only reaching around 10% of dying people at the end of life.
Right now, one in four people in the UK with a terminal illness, do not get the care or support they deserve at the end of their lives.
Our vision
We want a different society than the one we live in now. Our mission for the next five years is to close the gap in the number of people missing out on what they need at the end-of-life, through 3 ways:
1. Growing and transforming our direct care and support
2. Delivering more practical information and support
3. Leading in shaping the end-of-life experience

You’ll be assisting patients’ personal care needs such as washing, dressing and mobility and helping patients take their routine medicines.
Ours is a one-to-one approach to care, so you're sure to enjoy plenty of meaningful contact with patients and their loved ones. For community roles, where you are working within a patient’s home, you will be working without close supervision and you'll have the opportunity to use your own initiative in line with the patient's established care plan.
