The Health Assessment Advisory Service arranges and carries out assessments for DWP. The purpose of the assessment is to understand how an illness or disability affects a person’s daily life. After the assessment, DWP makes the decision as to whether the individual will receive any benefits.

We are delighted to announce exciting opportunities for qualified clinicians to join our team as a Functional Assessor supporting Personal Independence Payment assessments (PIP) and Work Capability Assessments (WCA) here at Ingeus UK, part of the global human services provider APM Group.

In addition to practical experience as a registered healthcare practitioner you have invaluable transferable skills such as critical analysis, objectivity, and logical thinking just to name a few. We’d like to offer you the opportunity to use these skills in a different way to give claimants the very best experience.

We will provide the required training and development to give you the best transition into your new role, as well as supported virtual and self-directed CPD.

You will be part of a like-minded team of professional clinicians that has a voice in how we improve our claimants’ experience and in positively raising the profile of the Health Assessment Advisory Service through leading change, mentorship, and coaching.

You’ll also have access to a wide range of development opportunities including Training Lead, Quality Lead and Clinical Practice Lead roles. Of course, this also includes opportunities across other clinical and healthcare business areas within the wider APM Group.

Ingeus values and culture

Everyone has a part to play in that. And the way we approach this important work is what sets us apart. That ‘way’ is rooted in our values. Our values are defined by our people and, whatever we do, we always strive to live by these five values:

Take pride
We value the potential of everyone and celebrate our achievements. We strive for excellence and to be the best we can be, going the extra mile, and adapting, changing, and innovating to deliver great results.

Do the right thing
This value means we act with integrity and do what we say we will do. We build trust and have honest conversations, always considering the impact of our actions on others.

Believe in everyone
We believe in everyone and encourage people to believe in themselves. We believe in everyone’s capability to change and challenge ourselves and others to make positive change. We value our colleagues and know we can achieve more together.

Care and respect
We understand that supporting and caring for one another enables people to thrive. Our culture of inclusivity provides a sense of belonging which means we listen and respect other’s views, embrace difference, care about people and what we do, and treat everyone fairly.

Own it
Our teams are always striving to achieve the best results – always asking “what else can I do?” This value means we take accountability for our actions, demonstrate leadership at every level, and are excited by new challenges.

Support and wellbeing

The people we provide services for, and our colleagues, come from all walks of life. We strongly believe this diversity is one of our greatest assets.

Our culture is built on the principle of treating everyone with dignity and respect, regardless of culture, ethnicity, religion, age, gender, sexual orientation or disability.

“The best thing I’ve experienced is support. We’re all here working - we literally do work as one team together.”

We are committed to ensuring that every individual is comfortable, confident and recognised for the value of their contributions.

“They said I’d be a good role model. I went for the job and I got it! I’ve seen people change from being shy and quiet to opening up more, holding their head up more and being more confident. It gives you an awful sense of achievement. I love it. I highly recommend working for Ingeus. The staff and the managers are amazing - they’re so supportive, there’s always someone around to help. I’ve really come out of my shell, and I really feel good.”

Karen Fletcher - In house Work Support Advisor

Our employee groups, including the Diversity & Inclusion Group, mentoring and training programmes and dedicated learning hubs are just some of the initiatives helping to create our inclusive environment.

“We practice what we preach. It’s about helping people because we care about people. We care about people’s futures.”

We value diversity and inclusion and actively encourage applications from everyone, including those that are underrepresented in our workforce.
