Our call centres provide NHS111 services and employ nurses, paramedics and other clinicians for our Clinical Advisor jobs. DHU Health Care is at the heart of the national NHS111 first service – responding to calls from centres in Derby, Chesterfield, Leicester and Oldbury.
Urgent treatment centres
Our urgent treatment centres provide emergency care and palliative care, employing community nurses and palliative care nurses as well as healthcare assistants (HCAs) for phlebotomy.

DHU Health Care Clinical NHS111 call centre nurse jobs
In this job nurses are given the clinical autonomy to deliver safe, effective and patient focused care. Clinical Advisors make a real difference to patients by utilising their broad clinical knowledge and experience, supported by decision support software to undertake telephone triage. Nurses will assess each patient’s presenting symptoms, and advise them on next steps, referring them on to further care when appropriate.
For our Clinical Advisor NHS111 jobs we employ registered nurses (RGNs), registered mental nurse (RMN) and children’s nurses (paediatric nurse). Working on NHS 111 is a highly skilled and exciting role that gives you the opportunity to use and develop your assessment skills for a wide variety of patients and clinical presentations.
Our Clinical Advisors are calm under pressure and happy working in a busy and challenging environment. The Clinical Advisor job role begins with 4 weeks of full time training, and a further 3 weeks of supported practice.
DHU Health Care GP surgery practice nurse jobs
We often welcome applications from newly qualified nurses who would have a keen interest in general practice nursing, as well as experienced nurses and practice nurses. New recruits who are newly qualified will have a period of preceptorship. As a new Practice Nurse you may be assigned a ‘buddy’ or ‘mentor’ in the first instance. Typically, that person would be a qualified nurse who has suitable experience of the discipline and will be able to assist you with your development, both in terms of making the transition to General Practice and any additional support you may need.
Some of the key clinical duties of our practice nurses:
● To utilise advanced clinical skills in long term conditions (examples include: asthma, CKD, diabetes, Respiratory, CHD, Dementia)
● To exhibit excellent nonverbal and verbal communication skills when dealing with patients and carers.
● Maintain appropriate clinical records in line with current practice guidelines.
● To work effectively as part of a multi professional team in collaboration with other members of the service. This will include initiating and receiving referrals from internal colleagues, and external agencies.
● To adhere to performance measures.
● To provide health promotion/accident prevention advice for patients and carers.

These rates are based on pay details as of June 2024.
DHU Health Care Clinical NHS111 call centre nursing jobs pay + salary
The potential earning pay for a nurse employed as one of our clinical advisers is £43,426 per year. For training and days a DHU Health Care Clinical Advisor nurse will be paid £17.15 per hour. For evenings and nights our nurses are paid £22.27, and at weekends you will be paid £24.91.
DHU Health Care Practice Nurse jobs pay + salary
The potential earning pay for a Practice Nurse working at one of our Urgent Treatment Centres is £35,391 - £42,618 (Band 6) per year.
DHU Health Care HCA jobs pay + salary
The potential earning pay for a Healthcare Assistant (HCA) working at one of our Urgent Treatment Centres is £22,816 - £24,336 (Band 3) per year. For evenings and nights there is a +30% evening enhancement, and for weekends a +45% weekend enhancement.
