We are seeking a skilled Senior Social Worker specialised in adult services to join our Community Team i n the picturesque city of Cambridge . What you will do:

1. Respond to need

- Provide professional leadership in complex case arrangements, ensuring the safety and thoroughly informative reports.

- Collaborate with service users for support planning that meets assessments and provides necessary support and resources.

- Engage with carers to sustain their roles and allocate support packages as necessary.

- Manage budgets effectively to commission required services.

2. Safeguarding and risk management

- Lead adult safeguarding investigations, bringing expert knowledge and decisiveness to complex cases.

- Balance risks within a safeguarding framework, making independent decisions on sensitive issues.

3. Service and team development

- Offer line management and supervision to direct reports, fostering professional growth and addressing employee relations.

- Lead induction for new Social Workers and Adult Support Coordinators.

- Contribute to integrated service development and promote innovative approaches to care.

4. Partnership Working

- Represent the institution in multi-agency networks, working to secure integrated care and funding streams.

- Collaborate strategically with other organisations to enhance service user and carer outcomes.

5. Professional development

- Stay informed on social policy, offering resourceful support to your team and promoting service user empowerment.

- Take charge of your professional growth, maintaining records of Continuous Professional Development.

6. Professional Values, Behaviours and Standards

- Uphold the institution's standards and behaviours through timely and responsible service execution.

- Maintain accurate service user records and be an ambassador for the profession.

Essential / Desirable Criteria

- Degree-level qualification in Social Care - Essential - Recognised Social Work qualification, with relevant specialist post-qualifying and/or postgraduate training - Essential - Current registration with Social Work England - Essential - Actively undertaking a specialist role (e.g. Practice Educator or AMHP), or agreement to undertake such a role within the first year - Essential - Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) - Desirable - Approved Mental Capacity Professional (AMCP) - Desirable
