Contract Type: Temporary (Long-term sick/leave cover)

What you will do:

* Manage a specific caseload of children in care, ensuring all statutory requirements are completed efficiently and effectively.

* Conduct statutory home visits and produce detailed written reports within specified timescales.

* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in line with local authority and legislative requirements.

* Prepare for and attend court hearings, providing relevant evidence as needed.

* Build strong and professional relationships with children, young people, their families, and multi-agency teams.

* Participate actively in regular supervision and contribute positively to team meetings.

* Work collaboratively with key professionals such as schools, health services, and carers to secure the best outcomes for children in care.

* Demonstrate excellent English communication skills in both written and spoken formats.

Person Specification:

* Qualified and registered Social Worker with Social Work England.

* Experience in a children and families setting, preferably within a Looked After Children (LAC) team.

* In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation and statutory guidance.

* Experience in court work is highly desirable.

* Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines under pressure.

* Exceptional communication, report writing, and interpersonal skills.

* Capability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.

* Commitment to promoting the welfare and rights of children and young people.
