What you will do:

* Conduct statutory assessments of children and families following the Children Act 1989 and 2004

* Manage diverse caseloads encompassing child protection, children in need, and looked-after children

* Create and execute child-focused care plans that ensure safety, stability, and wellbeing

* Carry out home visits and meticulously maintain records using the council's case management system

* Prepare comprehensive reports for child protection conferences, court proceedings, and looked-after reviews

* Collaborate with multi-agency teams including education, health, and police services

* Participate and contribute in strategy meetings, reviews, and court hearings as required

* Consistently safeguard and promote the welfare of children in line with statutory guidance

Requirements:

* Valid Social Work qualification (Degree/Diploma in Social Work, or equivalent)

* Registration with Social Work England

* Proven experience in a statutory setting working with children and families

* Solid understanding of safeguarding legislation, specifically Working Together to Safeguard Children

* Current enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain)

* Strong verbal, written communication skills

* Capability to work independently while managing a complex caseload
