About Us
Priory Cheadle Royal Hospital is a leading provider of mental health services, offering specialist care across various disciplines. Our Eating Disorders Unit provides high-quality, evidence-based treatment for patients experiencing complex eating disorders.
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Consultant Psychiatrist to join our specialist Eating Disorders Unit. The successful candidate will play a key role in leading a multidisciplinary team to deliver outstanding care to our patients.
Clinical:
- Working as the Consultant and Responsible Clinician as part of the MDT
- Take overall responsibility for patient care and treatment plans in conjunction with the MDT
- Timely assessment of referrals along with the MDT
- Conducting Comprehensive Assessments and Treatment Planning with patients, external stake holders and carers.
- Chairing MDT/CPA Meetings; Adhering to organisational admission and discharge policy and procedures.
- Timely discharge GP notifications and discharge summaries.
- To contribute to the unit governance through expertise and leadership.
- Prepare and supervise reports for Mental Health Act Review Tribunals & Managers Hearings alongside giving evidence within these meetings.
- Participate in a non-resident second on call out of hour's rota with a frequency of no more than 1:8
- Offering Clinical Leadership in collaboration with Ward Manager
- Ensuring Ward is complaint with Organisational and Regulatory requirements
- Attending ward governance meetings with ward manager
- Working with organisational quality improvement (QPIs) initiatives
- Attending Monthly governance meetings.
- Attending monthly Academic meetings
- Contributing to Case presentations and teaching
- Participation in audit, research, quality improvement initiatives
- Post holder is expected to be on the specialist register with CCT/CESR
- Valid Approved Clinician status
- Full GMC registration with license to practice
- Knowledgeable of the Mental Health Act and Code of Practice, along with the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Code of Practice
- Committed to continued professional development
- Experience in treating eating disorders and complex psychiatric conditions. Able to work collaboratively as a part of a multi-disciplinary team
