Priory Hospital Woking provides high-quality private mental health and addiction services, including inpatient, day patient, and outpatient care. Set in a tranquil rural location, the hospital has 33 beds across male and female wards, alongside an on-site therapy centre-The Lodge-offering a wide range of treatment programmes.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and committed Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team on a permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver outstanding care in a supportive, multidisciplinary environment. You will play a key role in shaping clinical services, supporting recovery, and improving patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide outpatient assessments, follow-ups, and urgent appointments for private patients.
  • Act as the named Consultant for allocated outpatient, day patient, and inpatient cases.
  • Take clinical responsibility for patients, including participation in MDT ward rounds, risk assessments, strategic reviews, and the development of a therapeutic environment.
  • Deliver expert psychiatric assessment and treatment for a varied caseload.
  • Work closely with a multidisciplinary team including psychologists, therapists, and nurses.
  • Engage in clinical governance, quality improvement, and service development.
  • Participate in the Consultant on-call rota to support continuity of care.
  • Build relationships with referrers and maintain professional networks.
  • Ensure compliance with clinical guidelines and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain professional development and meet Revalidation requirements.
Candidate Profile
  • Full GMC registration with Specialist Registration in Psychiatry.
  • CCT/CCST (or equivalent) in General Adult Psychiatry or Addiction Psychiatry.
  • Proven experience in inpatient mental health settings.
  • Strong understanding of clinical governance and regulatory compliance.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance (provided by Priory).
  • Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with the wider team.
  • Strategic and adaptive problem solver with a focus on delivering evidence-based care.
