We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Pentonville , a category B remand prison located in Central London. Opportunity to gain additional ACT training supported by the site and anything you are interested to learn and develop in, they can look at supporting you.
Parking on-site, on-site canteen, monthly well-being days.
Pentonville has a large pharmacy where the medications are dispensed on the wings.

Hours
37.5 hours week, working 4 long days working 07:30 -5.30pm with 1 hour lunch and on 5th week by working 5 days.
If you want to work additional hours, you can work longer days during the weekdays and weekends as bank.

The Pharmacy team operate from Monday through to Sunday 07.30am - 8.3pm at night, 7 days a week.

Salary

This position is full time, you'll receive an annual salary up to £43,756 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

What you'll be doing

As a Pharmacy Technician, your responsibilities will vary. You will

  • Provide outstanding quality based patient centred care to our patients seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
  • Focussing on providing a safe and secure medicines management service, ensuring patient medical records are maintained to the agreed standard at all times and ensuring standard operating procedures are followed to a high and orderly standard. Deliver non-judgemental care within the scope of professional standards Involving anything from the timely administration of medicines through to analysing cost effective prescribing as defined through our unique health in justice medicines policy.
  • Share Information relating to pharmaceutical products, medicines management, drug regimes, medicines legislation and general health education so that the multidisciplinary healthcare team are appropriately informed.

Requirements
  • NVQ Level 3, or above, BTEC or equivalent
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Up to date with Continual Professional Development (CPD)
  • Relevant post-qualification pharmacy experience
  • General GCSE education or equivalent
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures
  • Good IT skills and IT literacy
  • A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
