We are looking to bring on a WCA Clinical Trainer and Functional Assessor, to join our team on a permanent basis. This role involves delivering engaging online training to support new assessors during onboarding and development. The role rotates between delivering training and conducting work capability assessments, ensuring clinical credibility is maintained. It blends facilitation, coaching, and assessment expertise to support high standards and successful learner outcomes.

Position

As a WCA Clinical Trainer and Functional assessor for IPRS PFAS, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing an online training environment for new starters, guiding and supporting them through the process to ensure a strong foundation for future success. Including
  • Conduct detailed functional assessments, critically analyze evidence, and produce professional reports.
  • Demonstrate strong written English skills in reports, ensuring accuracy in spelling and grammar.
  • Maintain professional standards and adhere to the professional code of conduct.
  • Provide a positive experience for claimants and their companions.
  • Set a positive example for colleagues, clients, and claimants in work quality, productivity, and attitude.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to meet quality and productivity targets, seeking support, responding to feedback and work cohesively with Operational as well as Clinical colleagues.
  • Ensure reports are high quality, achieving "Grade A/B" standards, and make timely amendments when needed to ensure quality standards are maintained.
  • Work within DWP guidelines and lead Stage 1 & 2 training sessions as directed by PFAS and PCH.
  • Create a supportive learning environment, identify additional learning needs, and complete necessary training while providing clear documentation for handover.
Additional duties:
  • Provide coaching support to trainees in stage 3 of their training and provide documentation for handover to the Clinical Performance Lead and provide coaching support to stage 3 trainees.
  • Assist with recruitment by conducting face-to-face interviews.
  • Where training tasks are not required, support with Business As Usual (BAU) tasks.
Requirements

We would love to hear from you if you are a:
  • Qualified Chartered Physiotherapist or Qualified Occupational Therapist.
  • BSc or Qualified Paramedic
  • Qualified Nurse (RGN, RMN, RNLD only)
Have experience and Knowledge of:
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
  • 2 years of clinical experience as a qualified healthcare professional delivering WCA assessments.
  • A broad clinical knowledge base.
  • Previous experience in using computer software including Microsoft Office
Other information

Salary: Starting from £48,500

Position: Full-time, permanent.

Location: Hybrid (Nearest to site - Ipswich, Croydon, Norwich or Colchester)

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
