- Brain Injury Support Worker
Location: Hull
Hours: 8 hours per week, with scope to increase to match Wife's work shifts.
Pay: £15.40 per hour.
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Brain Injury Support Worker to join our team. In this role, you will provide high-quality care and support to our client, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being.
Due to role responsibilities, you must have a full UK driving licence and be willing to drive the client's car.
About the Client:
Our client is in his 50s with a brain injury, following an injury at work. As a result, he has weakness to the right arm and leg which affects mobility and suffers with vertigo and mild epilepsy. He also has intermittent hearing loss and suffers with tinnitus.
He is a dedicated family man. Prior to his accident he led an active life, enjoying football and taking his daughter to rugby training and matches and he is keen to continue supporting her and looking for a support worker with a genuine interest in sport, particularly football and rugby.
The family share their home with their Labrador, so you will be comfortable with large (friendly!) dogs.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver personalized care and support to our client.
- Assist with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, mobility, and meal preparation.
- Administer medication and monitor health conditions.
- Accompany client in the community, to football matches, therapy & rugby training/matches.
- Provide emotional support and companionship.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in the client's condition.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive care.
- Experience in a similar role, preferably with brain injury experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Energetic, upbeat, and empathetic nature.
- Interest in sport, particularly football and rugby.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work the specified hours.
- Valid UK driver's license.
