A new opportunity has arisen within the Medical Records department at our busy Plymouth based hospital.
With the increase we see in the care and treatments we are offering to patients, our focused and professional administration team have an opening for a Patient Administrator to provide a seamless service by ensuring that patient records are prepared in an accurate and timely manner, supporting staff in all departments.

This is a permanent part-time position (22.5h pw)
Working 3 days per week as follows;
Monday - 08:00 to 16:00
Thursday - 08:00 to 16:00
Friday - 08:00 to 16:00
What you'll be doing
This Patient Administrator, position will see you maintaining the tracking of patient case notes, which may include conducting investigations into missing notes, X-rays, scans and required patent information.
You'll be keeping all files and notes in alphabetical order and scanning medical records into our internal patient tracking system. You'll be overseeing the dispatch and distribution of case notes and liaising with staff regarding the retaining of any loose notes that have been generated.
In addition, you'll be identifying notes fit for archiving or destruction and act in accordance with our internal policy with performing these tasks.
Not only will you be communicating with many of the departments with the hospital, you will also be liaising with outside health agencies.
This position will also see you supporting the wider Administration team as requested by the Administration Manager, to assist with the continued smooth running of the whole department.
What we'll look for in you
We see the appointed Patient Administrator coming from a very similar background in managing and collating vital and sensitive personal information and very familiar with working accordance with GDPR.
Will be a strong and thorough administrator, computer literate, used to working to tight deadlines.
An effective communicator at all levels, able to liaise with other departments both internal and external
You will have an understanding of the consequences where records are not available and will be able to deal with exposure to stressful situations.
