Job Description

Join The Copse in Weston-Super-Mare, as a Mental Health Administrator and enjoy a career where you are valued and supported to be the best you can be.

Working alongside the multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for organising and coordinating First Tier Tribunals Section Renewal and Hospital Manager Appeal meetings for service users, this will see you prepare and arrange paperwork to support the meetings. You will also be responsible for arranging CPA and/or CTR meetings for the patients and provide administrative support to the medical team.

As a Mental Health Administrator, you will process hearings for Mental Health Tribunals and Hospital Managers Reviews, and will be responsible for notifying all parties, obtaining reports, negotiate hearing dates and venue, and providing and processing documentation in line with MHA Code of Practice an procedures.

As a Mental Health Administrator you will be:

  • Attending Managers Review Hearings in the capacity of the MHA Administrator/Clerk and ensure the review satisfies the fundamental legal requirements of fairness reasonableness and lawfulness.
  • Following up MHA action points included in the Care Quality Commission reports submitted following visits to clinical areas.
  • Liaising with the consultants and nursing team to update service users information regarding renewal of sections and consent to treatments.
  • Providing information to service users about their access to Independent Mental Heal Advocacy Services (IMHA).
  • Arranging CPA & CTR meetings for all patients as required.
  • Provide administrative support to the medical team.
  • Attend and arrange Individual care reviews for all patients on a monthly basis.
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
  • Confidence to liaise and give advice to a wide range of people from different profession
  • Experience within a similar role
  • Knowledge of the relevant legislation and current case law relating to the Act.

Location: The Copse, Beechmount Close,?Oldmixon, Weston-Super-Mare, Somerset,?BS24 9EX?

You will be working at The Copse, providing inpatient rehabilitation for men with mental health conditions who require active rehabilitation in order to progress into future community placements.??
Working as part of a team, you will support service users to maintain links with family and friends, gain opportunities and prepare for community living. Service Users typically come from other hospital placements, or directly from the community.???
