Job Description

Job Title: Practice Nurse

Location: London, Greater London

Reports To: Practice Manager

Job Type: Locum

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Practice Nurse to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a primary care setting, assisting with assessments, treatments, and health education. The Practice Nurse will work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Care: Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients, including health assessments, vaccinations, and wound care.
  • Clinical Duties: Perform routine procedures such as blood pressure checks, ECGs, and blood draws.
  • Health Education: Educate patients on health management, disease prevention, and healthy lifestyle choices.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Collaboration: Work alongside physicians, specialists, and other healthcare staff to coordinate patient care and follow-up.
  • Emergency Response: Respond effectively to patient emergencies and support advanced life support as needed.
  • Inventory Management: Assist in the management of medical supplies and equipment.
  • Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives and comply with relevant health regulations.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent; current nursing license.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a primary care or outpatient setting preferred.
  • Skills: Strong clinical assessment skills, excellent communication abilities, and proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
  • Certifications: CPR and First Aid certification; additional certifications (e.g., immunization, chronic disease management) are a plus.
