If you are an experienced Healthcare Assistant with a passion for making the patient journey as comfortable as possible we have just the role for you.
Working as a Health Care Assistant at Practice Plus Group, Ilford, you'll provide support to the nursing staff and other members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of a high standard of care to patients in a safe and caring environment. .
Above all, you have a natural ability to help make the lives of others more fulfilling and want to work in an environment where the work can be hard, but also fun and rewarding.
Working 37.5 hours a week over 4 days, with the shifts of 7.45am- 5.45pm, 9am -7pm or 11am-9pm
Some Saturday working is required with is usually 1 in 5.

What you'll be doing
This role will have C linical and Technical, Managerial and Administrative responsibilities
Management responsibilities
- Working as an effective team member and understands the importance of team working in the delivery of high-quality patient care , you will be able to demonstrate excellent two-way communication with patients, carers and team members
- Supports the Outpatient Department Manager and Team Leader to ensure the clinical area practices within Data Protection/Confidentiality/Caldicott principles.
- Working with team to maintain high standards of cleanliness in the clinical area and a well-maintained department environment. Assist with non-clinical activities to ensure the smooth running of the department
- Understands the importance of the patient and places them at the centre of service. Demonstrates that he/she consults and involves patients in decisions about their care and well-being.
- Undertakes other care practices as directed by the Registered Nurse, but is able to carry out routine patient care duties under direct supervision.
- Supporting the Registered Nurse in the provision of basic nursing care to patients by assisting patients to maximise their independence following training and assessment of competencies, with:
- Vital sign recording
- Pre Operative observations
- Pre operative investigations
- To be involved in the smooth organisation of the clinics
- Follow up appointments and administration outcomes using the company database.
- Help to promote and maintain a clean and comfortable environment on the Department, which meets the needs of patients
- Contribute to accurate written and computerised documentation relevant to patient care
- Assist the multi professional team to prepare and support patients undergoing treatment
- Effectively communicate with all medical, nursing and staff of other disciplines concerning the care of the patient
- To answer the telephone in a polite manner and refer promptly all enquiries to the relevant person
- Assisting with the departmental clerical/administrative duties, to include photocopying, transporting of equipment/ paper-work to other departments

- Provide an efficient and effective outpatient reception service to patients, staff and visitors, as required by the nurse in charge
- To meet and greet all arrivals in a professional and customer/patient centred approach in line with the customer service standards of Practice Plus Group
- Gather Patient information together where appropriate for the outpatient clinics.
We are looking for someone who is willing to work hard, learn and develop in the role, but most importantly someone who understands the value of team work and a good work ethic.
The ideal applicant will have
- You will have an NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care and be willing to undertake training to gain further clinical skills.
- Experience or a good understanding of a HCA duties and responsibilities
- The ability to receive and communicate information accurately and take instruction from professional colleagues.
