We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Learning Disability Nurse for a split role to join our teams at HMP Rye Hill cat B & HMP Onley, a category C Prison both based next door to each in located in Rugby.

HMP Rye Hill has a capacity of 660 males after 18+ HMP Onley has a capacity of 745 males
We are looking for someone with experience in learning disabilities and is able to work in a challenging environment.,

Hours:
This role is full time 37.5 hours per week split over 2 sites covering 18.75 at each site, the working times are 8am - 4pm with 30 mins lunch.

Salary:

This position is full time, you'll receive an annual salary between £45000 - £49000 £per annum FTE - depending on experience.

What you'll be doing

As a Senior Learning Disability Nurse your responsibilities will vary. You will
  • Managing in the day to day operational functioning of the Mental Health team.
  • Responsibility for a caseload and be accountable for all aspects of delivering a nursing
    service for adults with learning disabilities/ challenging behaviour, within the criminal justice setting.
  • You will be working with adults whose behaviours have resulted in their offending and coming into
    contact with the criminal justice system
  • You will be working with the multi-disciplinary team to
    undertake person centred specialist behavioural assessments, planning and co-ordination of positive
    non aversive behavioural approaches to service users

Qualifications required
  • Current NMC registration
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development
  • Working with patients, face to face, who have complex mental health conditions
  • Experience of psychosocial interventions, group work and awareness of substance misuse
  • Sound clinical knowledge and assessment skills including risk assessment
Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
