Senior Social Worker - Safeguarding Team (Children's Services)

Location: Wisbech, Cambridgeshire

Pay Rate: £37.55 per hour

What you will do:

- Hold and manage a complex caseload, including Child in Need, Child Protection, and court proceedings.

- Undertake direct work with children and families to effectively assess and address their needs.

- Complete comprehensive assessments such as parenting and sibling assessments.

- Prepare statements and care plans for court proceedings, ensuring all documentation meets required legal standards.

- Work closely with multi-agency professionals, including health, education, and legal services, to safeguard and promote the welfare of children.

- Attend and contribute to case conferences, core group meetings, and court hearings as needed.

- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures, including the Children Act of 1989 and 2004.

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records in line with professional and organisational standards.

Requirements:

- Social Work England registered.

- Qualified Social Worker with a recognised social work degree.

- Substantial post-qualification experience in children's safeguarding and social work.

- Experience in conducting complex assessments and preparing court reports.

- Strong knowledge of child protection legislation, policies, and best practices.

- Excellent communication, analytical, and organisational skills.

- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
