We have an exciting opportunity for a Mental Health Nurse to join our Mental Health team at HMP & YOI Hollesley Bay , a category D Prison located in the village of Hollesley, near Woodbridge in Suffolk.

In this role you'll be working with a multi-disciplinary team that will support you and help you succeed.

Hours

Monday to Sunday: 8.00 to 16.00 or 07:00 - 17:00.
You will be working 4 long days, or 5 short days a week and be expected to work some weekends.

Salary

This position is full time, you'll receive an annual salary up to £ 40,211 per annum - depending on experience.

What you'll be doing

As a Mental Health Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will

  • Work within a multi-disciplinary team carrying out comprehensive assessments, initiating and reviewing care plans, and developing treatment options
  • Undertake medication rounds, and assess and treat patients who may have undergone traumatic
    experiences and may be distressed
  • Assess patient's health needs using an evidence based framework and be able to risk assess use sound clinical knowledge
  • Promote best practice, clinical supervision, evidence based care
  • Share knowledge, skills and expertise to ensure safe care, building strong multi-disciplinary teams
    and supporting each other to do a great job.

Requirements
  • Registered NMC Mental Health Nurse
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development
  • Experience of working with patients, face to face, who have complex mental health conditions
  • Experience of psychosocial interventions, group work and awareness of substance misuse
Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
