Job Description

Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Family Group Conference Co-Ordinator within the Reunification Team to work full time based in Redbridge.

The salary for this permanent Family Group Conference Co-Ordinator job is up to £31,731 per annum.

Main duties:

* Fundamental to the responsibilities of this post is the ability to respond flexibly, positively and successfully to the ever-changing pressures and agendas faced by agencies working with children, young people and their families.

* To manage and engage with a complex and challenging workload including; multiple risk factors and multi-agency input in complex family situations.

* To undertake individual home visits in addition to office based working ensuring that the lone worker policy is adhered to.

* To ensure that the Family Group Conference responds appropriately to the needs of families from diverse backgrounds.

* To support children and their families so that children will be maintained in a safe environment within the family network.

* Exercise a high degree of independence, initiative and expertise in order to co-ordinate meetings which bring families together, utilising and including community members and professionals to make and agree safe plans for children and young people within their network.

* To prepare relevant professionals for the meeting and assist them with producing information for the family which is clear and concise and provide information about concerns and potential resources.

* Ensuring that Safeguarding Procedures are adhered to, recognising and taking action in relation to the safety of children where concerns and risks are identified and for those excluded arrange alternative arrangements.

* To develop a good working relationship with all Social Work Teams to ensure a co-ordinated approach to FGC's in the best interest of children and their families.

* To ensure health and safety procedures are followed within own areas of responsibility, ensuring that health and safety requirements are met including lone working procedures.

Requirements of this Family Group Conference Co-Ordinator job:

* A social Work Qualification or equivalent.

* Understanding of relevant legislation.

* Continual professional development.

* Social Work England registered.
