Bexley Council is seeking an accomplished Senior Social Worker to join the Mental Health Team (Bexley14). You will work within an established framework that supports adults with complex mental health needs, enhancing their independence and promoting well-being in line with essential legislation such as the Care Act 2014 and the Mental Health Act 1983.

What you will do:

* Conduct in-depth assessments and craft personalised care plans for individuals living with mental health conditions.

* Collaborate with a variety of multi-disciplinary teams, including health professionals, voluntary services, and other agencies.

* Undertake Mental Capacity Act assessments and perform safeguarding duties with precision.

* Deliver person-centred Care Act assessments, ensuring legal compliance and high standards of care.

* Manage a diverse and complex caseload while providing guidance and supervision to junior staff and newly qualified social workers.

* Make informed decisions on risk assessment, crisis intervention, and discharge processes from hospitals.

* Adhere to local authority policies, safeguarding guidelines, and national regulations.

* Advocate effectively for service users, facilitating access to support services and community resources.

* Liaise with Approved Mental Health Professionals and contribute to Mental Health Act procedures as required.
