Job Description
Care Position Details:
• Positions: Care Assistant & Senior Care Assistant
• Hourly Rate: £12.44-£13.90 per hour
• Location: Welwyn Garden City
• Hours per Week: Permanent, 42 hours per week
• Shifts: 8.30am-8.30pm/8.30pm-8.30am
About the nursing home:
Xealthcare are currently recruiting for dedicated care assistants and senior care assistants on behalf of our well-respected care provider to join there beautifully modern nursing home, located in a commutable area within Welwyn Garden City. Our client is offering permanent, full-time contracts to cover both day and night shifts. The successful candidate will be required to work 2 weeks of day shifts, then 2 weeks of night shifts.
Our client’s large home offers nursing and residential care for elderly residents living with dementia and other mental health diagnoses. The well-established care assistants and senior care assistants are trained to deliver the best possible care.
Position: Healthcare Assistant
As a healthcare assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care and assistance to our client’s residents. Your main responsibilities will include assisting with personal care, administering medication, supporting daily activities, and ensuring the overall well-being of our residents. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of our client’s residents and contribute to their health and happiness.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assisting residents with personal care, including bathing, dressing, and toileting.
• Administering medication in accordance with the prescribed guidelines.
• Supporting residents with daily activities, such as meal preparation, eating, and mobility.
• Monitoring and recording residents' vital signs and reporting any changes to the nursing staff.
• Providing emotional support and companionship to residents.
• Maintaining a clean and safe environment for residents.
• Collaborating effectively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic care.
Requirements:
• No requirement of NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care, but it would be beneficial.
• Prior experience in a care setting or similar role is preferred.
• Compassionate and empathetic nature with a genuine interest in the well-being of elderly individuals.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a team and independently.
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
• Respect for privacy, dignity, and confidentiality.
