We have an exciting opportunity for a Mental Health Clinical Lead to join our Mental Health team at HMP Winchester , a category B Prison located in Winchester .
HMP Winchester is a male remand prison with a capacity for 700 inmates. This role would be best suited to somebody with managerial experience however has the clinical knowledge to support a team of healthcare professionals including clinical leads.
Hours
37.5 hours - 8-4 or 9-5, no weekends, nights or bank holidays
Salary
This position is full time, you'll receive an annual salary up to £57603per annum FTE - depending on experience.

What you'll be doing
As a Mental Health Clinical Lead, your responsibilities will vary, you will:
- Work as part of and lead the Mental Health team within the Integrated Healthcare Services team.
- Provide clinical leadership and management to Registered nurses and allied health professionals.
- Establish inter-agency working where necessary to ensure good communication increases quality of care for patients.
- Ensuring that own clinical practice is consistent with autonomous practice.
- Based on the Wellbeing Approach and Practice Plus mental Health policy, provide nursing triage and screening and assessment.
- Actively participate with the development of local operating procedures to ensure pathways are clear for clinicians
- Ensuring all complaints / concerns relating to Mental Health are dealt with in a timely fashion.
- Nurse lead treatment or care within mental health
- Confirm waiting list are well managed ensuring minimal waiting times for patients
- Medicines management/advice including supporting medicine administration
- Set standards for care by implementing protocols and establishing health education activities.
- Maintain accurate documentation of assessment, planning and treatment of patients.
- Manage and provide clinical supervision to the team

Qualifications required
- Registered Mental Health Nurse (Currently registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council)
- BSc or equivalent qualification
- Experience of providing supervision of a team
- Teaching / Mentoring experience and /or qualification Experience
- Evidence of appropriate continuing professional development activity to maintain up-to-date knowledge and on-going competence in all aspects of the role
