We have an exciting opportunity for a Bank Healthcare Assistant to join the Primary Care team at HMP Full Sutton. HMP Full Sutton is a Category A men's prison near Pocklington. It is a half an hour drive from York city centre. The prison is purpose built and has capacity to hold 560 men in conditions of high security.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join the team, and work in a varied environment, where you will gain experience across primary care, including emergency response, working on the wings, clinics, health promotion, and more! No 2 days are the same in this challenging, yet rewarding and supportive environment.

Hours:

This is a bank role offering flexible hours to cover additional need such as sickness and annual leave

Salary:

This position is offered on a bank basis and the hourly rate is £15.25

What you'll be doing

As our new Bank Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:

• Ensure continuity of care for all patients, and deliver outstanding care at all times
• Work across all areas of care, including inpatients, clinics, primary care, health promotion, bloods etc
• Respond to emergency situations as needed
• Work holistically with your patients and other healthcare staff, including nurses, nursing associates, pharmacy etc
• Deliver personalised, non judgemental care, based on patient feedback
• Contribute to, and implement care packages, assist with health promotion, wellbeing and clinics

Our new Bank Healthcare Assistant will:

• Hold a NVQ Level 2 / 3 in Health & Social Care, or equivalent work experience
• Experience in a healthcare environment - hospital, prison or within the community
• Have a keen interest in care - we offer lots of training and development opportunities and can help you work towards your interests and career goals!
• Although not essential, your own vehicle would be beneficial due to the location of the site
