We have an exciting opportunity for a Mental Health Nurse/Practitioner t o join our Mental Health team at HMP Winchester , a category B Local remand prison located in Central Winchester accommodating approximately 670 male prisoners.
Although the site is close to Winchester city centre there is onsite parking for all staff and it is a short walk from Winchester train station.
Hours
37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday, 7.5 hours a day, either 8-4 or 9-5pm. 1 weekend in 4.
Salary
This position is full time, you'll receive an annual salary up to £50,000per annum FTE - depending on experience.

What you'll be doing
As a Mental Health Nurse/Practitioner, your responsibilities will vary. You will
- Undertake medication rounds, and assess and treat patients who may have undergone traumatic experiences and may be distressed
- Provide outstanding evidence based care to our patients, seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback
- support the registered nurse in implementing an agreed plan of care in association with the patient and in accordance with instructions and training received
- promote safe patient care
- develop and apply new skills to maintain and enhance clinical service delivery.

Qualifications required
- Current NMC or HCPC registration
- Evidence of Continued Professional Development
- Working with patients, face to face, who have complex mental health conditions
- Experience of psychosocial interventions, group work and awareness of substance misuse
- Sound clinical knowledge and assessment skills including risk assessment
