What You Will Do :
Assessments : Conduct detailed assessments of children with speech, language, and communication difficulties.
Evaluation Tools : Utilise a variety of tools and techniques to assess children's communication skills, including language, speech, and cognitive abilities.
Identify Needs : Identify specific areas of need related to speech, language, social communication, or swallowing.
Therapy Plans : Develop individualised therapy plans to address specific communication and language difficulties.
Therapy Sessions : Provide one-on-one or small group therapy sessions tailored to meet the needs of children with SEN.
Intervention Design : Design and implement interventions that support the development of communication skills.
Team Collaboration : Work closely with other professionals within the SEN team , such as teachers and psychologists, to provide holistic support for children.
MDT Meetings : Attend and contribute to multi-disciplinary team (MDT) meetings and reviews to ensure a coordinated approach in supporting children with SEN.
Family Support : Offer advice, guidance, and support to parents and carers on strategies to improve communication both at home and in school.
Training & Resources : Provide training and resources to families and staff to help reinforce therapeutic interventions.
IEP Development : Contribute to the development and review of children's Individual Education Plans (IEPs) .
Record Keeping : Maintain accurate records of assessments, interventions, and progress for each child.
Stay Informed : Stay up to date with the latest research and evidence-based practices in paediatric speech and language therapy.
