Care Assistant - Residential & Nursing Home (Brentwood)

Job Title: Care Assistant
Location: Brentwood
Shifts: 8 AM - 8 PM
Hours: Full-time, 36 hours per week (with overtime available)

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Care Assistants to join our team at our well-established residential and nursing home in Brentwood, specialising in elderly dementia care. If you are passionate about providing high-quality care and making a difference in the lives of our residents, we would love to hear from you.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist residents with personal care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming, ensuring dignity and respect at all times.

  • Support with mobility and transfers, using appropriate equipment where necessary.

  • Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, promoting a warm and nurturing environment.

  • Assist with meal preparation and feeding, ensuring dietary needs are met.

  • Monitor residents' well-being and health conditions, reporting any concerns to senior staff.

  • Maintain accurate care records and contribute to care plans in line with regulatory requirements.

  • Encourage and support residents with social activities and engagement within the home.

  • Work collaboratively with the nursing and senior care team to deliver person-centred care.

  • Offer specialised support for residents with dementia, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being.



Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a care assistant role is desirable but not essential - full training will be provided.

  • A caring and compassionate nature with a commitment to high standards of care.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including some weekends.

  • A team player with a proactive and positive attitude.

  • Understanding of dementia care and a willingness to undertake additional training in this area.
