We have an exciting opportunity for a Substance Misuse Nurse to j oin our Substance Misuse team at HMP Doncaster, a category B local resettlement prison situated in South Yorkshire. Doncaster houses a male population of up to 1145 individuals, approximately 200 of whom are young offenders aged 18-20.
In this role you'll be working with a multi-disciplinary team that will support you and help you succeed.
Hours
Monday to Friday - 9.00 to 17.00
Thursday and Friday - 9.00 to 14.00
Salary
This position is full time, you'll receive an annual salary up to £ 40,211 per annum - depending on experience.

What you'll be doing
As a Substance Misuse Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will
- Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, prioritising patient care to develop individualised packages of care through comprehensive assessment and recovery planning.
- Deliver a range of treatment options including clinical and psychosocial interventions in both a group and 1-1 setting.
- Carry out comprehensive assessments, initiate and review recovery plans and confidently communicate the full range of treatment options available to service users.
- Monitor therapeutic responses to medication and potential side effects and liaise with prescribers.
- Support in group work delivery and liaise with prescribers and Recovery Practitioners on clinical interventions.
- Have an understanding and commitment to recovery and a person centred approach.

Qualifications Required
- NMC Registered nurse.
- RCGP 1 in Substance Misuse or willingness to undertake.
- Experience of working with opiate dependant patients.
- Sound clinical substance misuse knowledge.
