We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician/ACT to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Isle of Wight, a category B men's prison, located in the Isle of Wight.

In this role you'll be working with a multi-disciplinary team that will support you and help you succeed .

Hours:
This is a full time role, working an average of 37.5 hours per week. The Pharmacy team work a rolling rota over 4 weeks, 3-4 shifts per week. Hours are Monday-Friday 8.30am- 5.00pm, with potential to work on weekends if needed.

Salary

This position is full time, you'll receive an annual salary up to £43,500- depending on experience.

What you'll be doing

As a Pharmacy Technician, your responsibilities will vary. You will

  • Provide outstanding quality based patient centred care to our patients
  • Deliver non-judgemental care within the scope of professional standards.
  • Inspire excellence by forging strong links within our teams, our partners and stakeholders and providing a service that people can trust, feel safe within and feel proud of.
  • Promote Best practice, evidence based care and continuous quality improvement embedding a culture of shared learning. Communicate complex or sensitive information whilst demonstrating empathy and understanding to patients.
  • Share Information relating to pharmaceutical products, medicines management, drug regimes, medicines legislation and general health education so that the multidisciplinary healthcare team are appropriately informed.

Qualifications required:
  • NVQ Level 3, or above, BTEC or equivalent
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Up to date with Continual Professional Development (CPD)
  • Relevant post-qualification pharmacy experience
  • General GCSE education or equivalent
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
