Job Description
Are you an experienced and motivated Psychologist looking for an opportunity to grow and develop?
If so, join Elysium Healthcare as a Psychologist, covering two Southwest sites.
Pinhoe View, a 36 bed Acute Inpatient Hospital in Exeter and The Copse, a 24 bed level 2 mental health rehabilitation service.
You will be working leading the psychology department and working alongside members of the Multi-disciplinary Team (MDT), to offer patient-centred care, implementing daily, meaningful activities which can support recovery.
This entails competently assessing unwell service users, including completing assessments, planning and implementing person-centred interventions and the ongoing evaluation of their care and treatment.
You will be required to oversee the provision of the psychology service, as well as supporting the team in facilitating assessment and formulation interventions and psychology groups in collaboration with the team.

As a Psychologist you will be:
- Participating in the assessment of referrals, and to provide initial assessment service users referred to the service.
- Undertaking high quality direct (assessment & therapeutic) and indirect (consultative, advisory, and evaluative) specialist psychological interventions and making autonomous clinical decisions.
- Working therapeutically with service users with complex presentations, undertake the assessments using a broad range of structured psychometric and semi structured clinical methods.
- Formulating and implementing plans of specialist psychological treatment or management of patients' mental health needs based on a multi-factorial psychological understanding and current evidence based best practise.
- Being professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of clinical work and care.
- Maintaining high standards of care in all areas of practice and in accordance the HCPC Code of Conduct, professional guidelines and Company Policies and Procedures.
- Have BPS recognised psychology degrees
- Be HCPC registered
- Have Chartered Psychologist status and appropriate post-graduate qualifications
- Be an approved supervisor within the guidelines of the BPS and relevant division
- Have understanding evidence-based psychological practice
- Have experience of applying psychological knowledge to a clinical setting
- Be experienced working with clients with cognitive deficits
- Have previous experience of conducting research and project working
Location: The Copse, Beechmount Close, Oldmixon, Weston-Super-Mare,
Somerset, BS24 9EX
The Copse is a level 2 mental health rehab facility where mental health services are provided across four, six bedded wards for men. The service is supported by a full multidisciplinary team and the focus is on a pathway of care that supports individuals back to the community.
Location: Pinhoe View, College Way, EXETER, EX1 3P
Pinhoe View is a purpose-built facility where a range of mental health services are provided for adults with acute mental health conditions across two wards.
The 24-hour acute inpatient service is supported by a full multidisciplinary team, which specialises in the assessment, treatment and stabilisation of people suffering from a significant mental health episode and in crisis.
