What You Will Do:

Conduct specialist assessments, diagnoses, and develop tailored treatment plans for patients with acquired communication and/or swallowing disorders, including individuals with complex physical, cognitive, and behavioural challenges.

Utilise expert clinical reasoning to set patient-focused goals and formulate treatment plans, working both individually and in interdisciplinary teams.

Take on a key-worker role for specific patients, ensuring continuity of care, smooth transitions during admission and discharge, and clear communication with care managers.

Advocate for patients with complex communication impairments, supporting them in understanding and consenting to treatment options.

Provide guidance and support to families and carers, discussing the implications of Speech & Language Therapy (SLT) diagnoses and treatment.

Requirements:

HCPC registration is required.

A minimum of two years' experience in Speech & Language Therapy.

Car driving is preferable, due to the nature of the role.
