Amazing Opportunity for a Senior Fertility Nurse/Midwife!!

Job Overview:

The post-holder will be one of a group of senior specialist nurses working within the Assisted Conception Unit where treatments offered include IUI, IVF/ICSI, shared motherhood, egg freezing, sperm freezing and surgical sperm retrieval.

Responsibilities and Duties:

·        To support and mentor junior team members , encouraging and advancing their professional development.

·        To work as part of the multidisciplinary team to support patients before, during and after treatment cycles, developing a therapeutic environment to meet the individual needs of the patient. 

·        To undertake patient consultations.

·        To work with Nursing Manager and Medical Director to ensure continuous professional development.

·        To be competent in Ultrasound Scanning (including pre-treatment, in-treatment and pregnancy scanning) and completed Graduate Certificate in Fertility Ultrasound (or equivalent).

·        To carry out Clinical Procedures including IUI, Embryo Transfer, HyCosy (once trained appropriately/deemed competent).

·        To assist the Nurse Manager in the day to day running of the clinic as delegated.

·        To be actively involved in the ongoing quality management process within Thérapie Fertility and assist the Quality & Data Manager with auditing and investigation/resolution of deviations and complaints.

·        To demonstrate excellent communication skills, providing information to enable couples to make informed choices regarding their treatment. Demonstrate use of excellent communication skills to support patients in highly stressful situations (e.g. breaking bad news, managing bereavement and anger management) both face to face and over the telephone.

·        To keep accurate records for each patient of all communication and clinical activity relevant to his/her treatment, in line with policy, in line with NMBI guidelines.

·        To exercise professional accountability at all times and to be aware of own development needs/limitations, actively seeking to address these and raise awareness in others.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       Must be a registered Nurse or Midwife with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland.

·       Will have extensive experience working in the field of fertility with exposure to all treatments performed in Fertility Clinic .

·       Good interpersonal and communication skills

·       Strong Team Player

·       Competent in Fertility Ultrasound, preferably with recognized qualification
