We have an exciting opportunity for a Part time Substance Misuse Nurse to join our Substance Misuse team at HMP Moorland , a category C Prison located in Moorland . Working in a team of 7 with strong partnerships and support.
Due to the rural location, ideally you do need to be a driver, on-site parking and a free gym.

Hours

30 hours a week - Mon - Sun - 9.5hrs shifts across 3 days for 3 weeks, 4 days on 4th week, but flexible . One in 4 weekends.

Salary

This position is part time, you'll receive an annual salary up to £47,466per annum FTE - depending on experience.

What you'll be doing

As a Substance Misuse Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will

  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, prioritising patient care to develop individualised packages of care through comprehensive assessment and recovery planning. Manage a small caseload and dispensing of medication when required.
  • Deliver a range of treatment options including clinical and psychosocial interventions in both a group and 1-1 setting with recovery at the centre of our healthcare wellbeing model
  • Be able to carry out comprehensive assessments, initiate and review individual recovery plans and confidently communicate the full range of treatment options available to service users.
  • Monitor therapeutic responses to medication and potential side effects and liaise with prescribers. You will work with individuals, on a 1-1 basis, providing advice and information
  • Support in group work delivery and liaise with prescribers and Recovery Practitioners on clinical interventions.
  • Have an understanding and commitment to recovery and a person centred approach.

Qualifications required:
  • Registered nurse with current NMC registration.
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development (CPD).
  • RCGP 1 in Substance Misuse or willingness to undertake.
  • Experience of working with opiate dependant patients.
  • Sound clinical substance misuse knowledge.
  • A non-judgmental and compassionate approach.
Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
