About the Role:
As a Social Worker within the Referral and Assessment Team, you are pivotal in working with children and families during critical moments. Your role encompasses managing new referrals, attending to child in need cases, addressing child protection concerns, and initiating court proceedings when required. You'll lead with a child-focused approach, fostering creativity and purpose.
What you will do:
- Conduct strategy discussions and Initial Child Protection Conferences.
- Develop Child In Need Plans and initiate court actions through Emergency Protective Orders as needed.
- Engage with families to prevent escalation of concerns.
- Undertake child protective investigations, safety and contingency planning, court work, report writing, and care planning.
- Chair complex meetings with creativity and purpose.

Qualifications:
- A degree with a relevant professional qualification in social work.
- Successful completion of the Assessed and Supported Year of Employment (ASYE).
- Active registration with Social Work England and proof of continuing professional development.
Skills and Experience:
- Ability to build strong partnerships and co-produce solutions with diverse stakeholders.
- Expertise in using research and data to inform decision-making.
- Competence in maintaining records as per local policy and creating accurate reports for various audiences.
- Knowledge of statutory legislation affecting children's services.
- Analytical skills for assessing needs and planning care packages.
- Experience in independently managing caseloads while meeting statutory timescales.
