We have an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our mental health team at HMP Gartree. HMP Gartree is a category B prison based in Market Harborough, housing around 650 patients. You will be working close with the multidiaplinary team, including GP's and ACP's to deliver Psychiatric support to adult males mainly aged 28-50. Most of whom have complex mental health and historic trauma needs.
Hours
20 hours per week works across 2.5 days
We are happy to create a rolling rota 2 days one week 3 the next, and are flexible which days are worked Monday to Friday.
We are also able to offer a full time role if working across either HMP Stocken and HMP Gartree or HMP Five Wells
Salary
This position is 20 hours per week you'll receive an annual salary up to £ Apply per annum FTE - depending on experience.
How will we support you?
- You will be part of a team of 15 plus experienced and supportive Consultant psychiatrists
- You will be able to attend monthly Consultant's meeting and 1:1 clinical supervision.

What you'll be doing
As a Consultant Psychiatrist, your responsibilities will vary. You will
- Provide excellent clinical care, assessment and treatment to patients on the case load onsite
- Actively participate in the strategic direction of the mental health service, lead the senior mental health clinicians on service developments and provide clinical supervision
- Work within the multi-disciplinary team to review referrals, determine appropriate treatment plans, conduct risk assessments, and engage in multi professional complex case reviews.

Qualifications required
- Registered professional with current registration (GMC)
- Specialist Registration in either General Adult or Forensic Psychiatry
- Approved under section 12 (2) of the MHS 1983
- Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working
- Up to date knowledge in the adult psychiatry and PD
- Awareness of current issues in mental health service provision, policy and legislation
