We have an exciting opportunity for a Practice Nurse to join our Planned care team at HMP Wormwood Scrubs, a category B Prison located in Hammersmith and Fulham in West London.

In this role you'll be working with a multi-disciplinary team that will support you and help you succeed.
Hours

Monday to Friday from 07:30 - 16:30

Salary

This position is full time, you'll receive an annual salary up to £53,172 per annum - depending on experience.

Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK on a permanent basis and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.

What you'll be doing

As a Practice Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will

  • Use your expert clinical skills and demonstrate judgement in assessing and managing wide ranging and complex patient problems.
  • Deliver face to face care and provide safe and effective health assessments and treatment of patients within the establishment.
  • Be accountable for your own practice, including the assessment, diagnosis, treatment and discharge or referral of patients, independent of medical intervention.
  • Work as part of the multi-disciplinary team in providing quality, evidence based health care to
    meet the immediate needs of the patient.

Qualifications required
  • Registered Adult Nurse (NMC)
  • Experience of working autonomously following best practice guidance and identifying risk to patients
  • Willing to be innovative and embrace learning through continued professional development and the practical application of new skills in the workplace
  • Excellent communication skills
Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
