What you will do:

- Lead and support a team of Registered Nurses and Healthcare Assistants, ensuring effective assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of high-standard holistic care for our service users

- Guide the nursing team in enhancing the quality of care, providing crucial support and advice to colleagues and relatives, while delegating tasks safely and assessing competence

- Manage a specific group of service users, working closely with the multi-disciplinary team, users, and their families to deliver exceptional care

- In consultation with the Head of Clinical Services/Ward Manager, conduct assessments of potential service users in collaboration with Health and Social Services commissioners

- Maintain precise and complete records of service user interactions in line with legislation, policies, and procedures, regardless of format

- Ensure all clinical staff receive documented supervision in accordance with our professional and statutory requirements

- Identify training needs and support staff development, promoting a culture of learning and sharing best practices

- Educate patients, carers, families, and colleagues, facilitating an environment conducive to learning and acting as a mentor to students when needed

- Uphold all Brainkind policies and procedures, maintaining a safe working environment and confidentiality

- Pitch in with reasonable additional tasks as needed to ensure the smooth operation of the Service

About you:

- Must be a Registered Nurse or hold a degree-level qualification

- Experience in specialist palliative or neurological care is desirable

- Proven leadership skills in a clinical setting, with strong influencing abilities

- Knowledgeable about current independent care legislation

- Self-directed, highly motivated, and capable of managing change and performance effectively

- Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to convey difficult messages empathetically

- Proficient in negotiation and conflict management

- Ability to teach and mentor within a clinical environment
