Job Description

Job Title: Residential Service Manager

The Residential Service Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations of a residential facility, ensuring that all services provided meet the needs of residents while maintaining high standards of care. The role includes staff management, financial oversight, compliance with regulations, and ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for residents.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Management:

Manage the day-to-day operations of the residential service.

Ensure that the service is in compliance with relevant regulatory standards and laws.

Develop and implement policies and procedures for the facility.

Staff Management:

Lead, train, and support the care team.

Conduct regular performance appraisals and provide coaching as needed.

Recruit, onboard, and manage staffing levels to ensure adequate coverage.

Resident Care and Support:

Ensure that residents’ care plans are followed and reviewed regularly.

Work with healthcare professionals to meet the physical, emotional, and social needs of residents.

Promote a positive environment and culture for residents and staff.

Financial Oversight:

Prepare budgets and manage the finances for the facility.

Oversee financial reporting, ensuring efficient use of resources and cost control.

Health and Safety:

Ensure that the facility adheres to health and safety protocols.

Conduct regular risk assessments and implement corrective actions when necessary.

Quality Assurance and Compliance:

Monitor the quality of service provided to residents and ensure adherence to standards.

Handle complaints and resolve issues promptly.

Ensure compliance with all regulatory bodies and maintain up-to-date records.

Qualifications and Skills:

Previous experience in residential care or social services, ideally in a managerial role.

Strong leadership and people management skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation, compliance standards, and best practices.

Ability to manage budgets and resources effectively.

Relevant qualifications in healthcare, social services, or management.
