Job Description

Theatre Team Lead - Orthopaedic| Bushey | Permanent | Market Leading Salary | Day Shifts | Excellent Benefits

As an Orthopaedic Team Leader you will be overseeing a small team and will be supported by a Theatre Manager and other team leads to assist patients undergoing a variety of elective procedures.

You will be passionate about service improvement and driven to succeed. If you do not already hold your SFA qualification, we will encourage and reinforce your interest in development and progression, and offer to fund this course, whilst being fully supported by your Theatre Manager and Senior Management Team.

This is a full time position working 37.5 hours per week. Our shifts will be variable between 7:30am - 9pm Monday - Saturday however we encourage you to talk to us about flexibility and what we can accommodate in this position.

Spire Bushey Hospital forms part of a 4-site portfolio and is supported by and works alongside Spire Bushey Diagnostic Centre, Elstree Cancer Centre and Spire Pathology Centre - based on Centennial Park in Elstree - just 5 minutes from the main hospital site.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise junior staff, perioperative practitioners and carry out clinical supervision
  • Contribute to the overall advancement of the Operating Department to promote excellence in clinical care
  • Act as a role model by demonstrating high levels of clinical expertise, leading, managing and delivering excellence in clinical care
  • Implement personal development plans to meet ongoing development needs
  • Prepare the operating theatre room for surgery in relation to equipment and supplies required for specific operative procedures
  • Ensuring waste is kept to a minimum
  • Assess patients health and well-being across a complex and changing orthopaedics caseload

Who we're looking for

  • Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner
  • Experience of working in teams with minimum supervision
  • Previous leadership experience would be an advantage, however we offer award winning training and CPD
  • HCPC or NMC registration
  • A minimum of 2 years ortho scrub experience
  • You must be passionate and driven and be able to demonstrate your dynamic thinking
  • Completed SFA training would be an advantage
