Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Support Worker and Outreach to work either full time or part time based in Dewsbury.

The salary for this permanent job is up to £22,369 p.a. pro rata.

Main Duties:

* Providing personal care, such as bathing and dressing, to service users

* Assisting service users with their daily activities, such as meal preparation, medication management, grocery shopping, and attending appointments

* Supporting service users to develop and maintain their independence and social skills, both at home and in the community

* Creating and following care plans to meet the individual needs of service users

* Providing emotional and practical support to service users and their families

* Advocating for service users and ensuring their rights are upheld

* Supporting service users with any physical or emotional needs they may have

* Maintaining accurate records and reporting any concerns or issues to their supervisor

* Following health and safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe and secure environment for service users

* Working as part of a team to ensure high-quality care and support is provided

Requirements of this job:

* Level 3 in Health and Social Care qualification or equivalent, or willingness to undertake this

* Have a minimum of 2 years' experience of working with people who have a learning disability

* Experience of working in the community or care home on a one-to-one basis with service users

* Knowledge of the issues affecting vulnerable people

* Understanding of health and safety manual handling issues

* Understanding of the need to keep within professional boundaries

* The ability to be flexible to fit in with the shift patterns including days, nights, weekends and bank/public holidays.
