We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Substance Misuse Nurse to join our Substance Misuse team at HMP Thorn Cross a category D Prison located in Cheshire.
HMP Thorn Cross is an Adult Male Institution and has a has an operational capacity of 430. The prison is located in the village of Appleton Thorn south of Warrington in Cheshire, England and is about 20 minutes from Warrington town centre.
Hours
This is a full time 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday 7am to 5pm or 7.30am to 5.30pm and Weekends and B/H 7.15am till 12 noon
Salary
This position is full time, you'll receive an annual salary up to £47466per annum FTE - depending on experience.

What you'll be doing
As a Senior Substance Misuse Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will
- Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, prioritising patient care to develop individualised packages of care through comprehensive assessment and recovery planning
- Deliver a range of treatment options including clinical and psychosocial interventions in both a group
- and 1-1 setting with recovery at the centre of our healthcare wellbeing model.
- Be able to carry out comprehensive assessments, initiate and review individual recovery
- plans and confidently communicate the full range of treatment options available to service users
- You will monitor therapeutic responses to medication and potential side effects and liaise with prescribers.

Qualifications required
- Registered nurse - Mental Health or Adult Nurse
- Current professional qualification (NMC)
- Evidence of Continued Professional Development
- RCGP 1 in Substance Misuse or willingness to undertake.
- Experience of working with opiate dependant patients.
