We have an exciting opportunity for a Mental Health Nurse to join our Mental Health team at HMP Rye Hill , a category B Prison located in Rugby.
HMP Rye Hill has a capacity of 660 males after 18+.

The Mental Health team consists of mental health clinical lead, 4 mental health nurses psychologist and psychiatrist and mental heath prescriber and a assistant psychologist.

Hours:
This is a permanent role based on 37.5 hours per week

Monday - Sunday. 8am - 6pm covering various shifts

Salary

This position is fulltime, you'll receive an annual salary between £36000 - £42000per annum FTE - depending on experience.

What you'll be doing

As a Mental Health Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will

• Work within a multi-disciplinary team carrying out comprehensive assessments, initiating and reviewing care plans, and developing treatment options
• Undertake medication rounds, and assess and treat patients who may have undergone traumatic
  experiences and may be distressed
• Assess patient's health needs using an evidence based framework and be able to risk assess use sound clinical knowledge
• You will work with individuals providing advice, support and information and manage a case load of patients.
• Deliver non-judgemental care that makes a real difference
• You will monitor therapeutic responses to medication and potential side effects liaising with prescribers as required.
• Inspire excellence by forging strong links with our partners and stakeholders
• Promote best practice, clinical supervision, evidence based care
• Share knowledge, skills and expertise to ensure safe care, building strong multi-disciplinary teams
  and supporting each other to do a great job.

Qualifications required:

• Qualified Mental Health Nurse - NMC registration
• Evidence of Continued Professional Development
• Experience of working with patients, face to face, who have complex mental health conditions
• Experience of psychosocial interventions, group work and awareness of substance misuse

Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
