We have an exciting opportunity for a Mental Health Nurse to join our Mental Health team at HMP Belmarsh , a category A Prison located in Greenwich, London.

HMP Belmarsh is a male, maximum security prison that has a capacity for 910 inmates. Healthcare at HMP Belmarsh includes, Dentists, Primary Care, Mental Health, Substance abuse and Pharmacy.

Salary

This position is full time, you'll receive an annual salary up to £53,172per annum FTE - depending on experience.

What you'll be doing

As a Mental Health Nurse (in reach) , your responsibilities will vary. You will

• Work within a multi-disciplinary team carrying out comprehensive assessments, initiating and reviewing care plans, and developing treatment options.
• Undertake medication rounds, and assess and treat patients who may have undergone traumatic experiences and may be distressed. You will assess patient's health needs using an evidence based framework and be able to risk assess use sound clinical knowledge, as well as Open, maintain, close and take part in reviews of individuals being managed under the Prison Suicide and Self Harm risk management system known as Assessment, Care in Custody and Teamwork (ACCT).

• Qualified Mental Health Nurse
• Current NMC registration
• Experience of working with patients, face to face, who have complex mental health conditions
• Experience of psychosocial interventions, group work and awareness of substance misuse
• Sound clinical knowledge and assessment skills
• Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working
