Job Description

  • About The Role
  • We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team in Andover, Hampshire. Our client is a young boy who lives at home with his family and beloved family dog. We are looking for a support worker who has experience with Cerebral Palsy, Autism and Brain Injury. Due to the location of the client and the responsibilities, we are looking for a support worker who can drive & has access to their own vehicle.
    Our client is fully mobile but non-verbal, so confidence with adapting communication to include gestures is essential.

    He has epilepsy, so whilst there is no daily medication administration, seizure management and emergency seizure medication will be included.

    Pay Rate: £16 - £18 per hour

    Working Hours:

    This is a Bank role so we will call upon support workers to cover annual leave/sickness when required.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Engaging with personalised routines and therapies as set out by professionals.
    • Completing daily living activities like sensory play.
    • Supporting client with their communication aides.
    • Constant monitoring of their health conditions and behaviours to maintain safety.
    • Providing emotional support and companionship.
    • Maintaining accurate records of care provided and reporting any changes in clients' conditions.
    • Collaborating with a range of healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive care.
    Requirements:
    • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in complex care.
    • To be able to deal with challenging behaviours.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Flexibility to work the specified hours.

    Training & Background Checks:
    An enhanced DBS check & full training will be provided prior to commencing work with our client and you will also be supported by our clinical lead nurse for the area.
