Job Description

Role: ITU Clinical Manager
Location: The Wellington Hospital NW8 9TA
Full Time, 37.5 hours per week
Main Core Hours - Mon-Fri 9am - 5pm, but may need to extend if required

As an ITU Clinical Nurse Manager in Wellington Hospital, although you are expected to have significant clinical experience in this specialism, you will also be heavily involved in governance, quality improvement, finance and clinical effectiveness. You will also provide clinical leadership in the delivery of the service. An innovative leader that can inspire and influential quality care and develop the team overall. You will oversee the day to day clinical operations of the department, acting as an expert practitioner and role model, assisting your junior colleagues to develop advanced knowledge and skills in order to benefit the treatment and care of critically ill patients in our hospital.

You will have the opportunity to work across an extremely diverse and acute patient-load covering a range of specialities, including Cardiac, Liver, Neuro & Spinal - giving you the flexibility to specialise in a specific area or keep your work varied and your skills challenged. As our units are equipped with the latest technology you have everything you need to provide specialised care to our level 2 & 3 patients. In addition to the amazing team and patients, we have an excellent education team that can offer a bespoke learning programme to identify your career pathway by undertaking Teaching and Mentorship courses, ILM or working towards your pathway in either Critical Care or Leadership & Management.

What you'll bring:

  • Registered General Nurse
  • Advanced respiratory ventilation, cardiovascular and renal care
  • Experience of working in ICU or Critical care
  • ALS
  • Cardiothoracic, General, Liver or Neuro experience in an ICU environment
  • ITU/ Critical Care course 60 credits
  • Ideally experience at a Charge Nurse level
