Clinical Specialist Radiographer - MRI
Cheshire, The Wilmslow Hospital
Full time, 37.5 hours per week
Shift times: 12 hour shifts between 08:00 and 20:00
Permanent
Salary: Up to £46,899 dependent on experience
We're looking for a dynamic Clinical Specialist MRI Radiographer to join our MRI team at The Wilmslow Hospital, currently rated "Outstanding" by the CQC.
At The Wilmslow Hospital we undertake a wide variety of MRI scans on our Siemens Skyra 3T scanner, including MSK sports imaging, abdominal, pelvic, oncology, neuro and breast imaging. We are passionate about staff development, and education, maintaining close links with regional Universities, who provide MRI education.
The successful candidate will, when necessary, deputise for the Superintendent MRI Radiographer, providing leadership, managing workload, and giving specialist MRI clinical advice to colleagues
Duties & responsibilities:
- Supervise a team of Radiographers undertaking modality specific imaging procedures
- Undertake MRI scans in line with existing modality specific clinical guidelines and protocols
- Maintain competence in general x-ray as required
- Support the Superintendent with staff development
- Be actively involved in induction of new clinical staff
- Support Superintendent with rotas for clinical staff where required
- Ensure exceptional communication is maintained with the team to deliver a smooth-running service
- Deal with day to day staff queries, liaising with appropriate support functions where required to resolve the queries within a reasonable timeframe
- Take ownership of governance activities i.e. audits, personal development, and team meetings with the support of your colleagues
- Provide compassionate patient centred care
- Undertake all examinations efficiently and to a high standard ensuring safety of patients at all times
- Assist in development and promotion of the Diagnostic Imaging service
- Assist with the booking of some appointments and work closely with the Radiologists
- Assist with MRI safety queries, supporting the Superintendent radiographer
- Undertake weekend working where required to support the service
What you'll bring:
- HCPC registration
- Degree or equivalent in Radiography
- Post-graduate qualification in MRI
- Extensive experience (5 years+) in MRI
- Cardiac MRI experience is desirable
- Experience with 3T scanning
