Job Description

B6 Senior Staff Nurse - Cardiac Thoracic Surgery
Location: Birmingham
Permanent, full-time/ 37.5 hrs a week
Salary: £37,000 - £45,000 per annum + shift % allowance + benefits


Are you an experienced Cardiac Thoracic surgical nurse looking for a new challenge? We're seeking a senior nurse to join our clients Cardiothoracic Surgical inpatients team.

Purpose-built 50 bed, multi-specialty private hospital. Combine deep clinical infrastructure with exceptional technology and modern facilities. Its expertise spans a wide range of specialties and sub-specialties, including Cardiology, Cancer, and Complex Surgery, allowing to deliver full clinical pathways at all levels of complexity. You will be working in a 12-bed, multi-specialty surgical unit.

Key Responsibilities;

  • Key role in delivering high-quality care to our patients, providing clinical leadership, support junior colleagues, and act as a role model within the team.
  • Working in a 12 bed multi-specialty surgical unit, caring for patients across GI, Gynae, Orthopaedics, Breast, Spinal, Liver, and more. Also includes a 6-bedded Enhanced Care Unit with in-room cardiac monitoring and a state-of-the-art 6-bedded Intensive Care Unit
Key skill sets required;
  • Current NMC Nurse registration
  • Experience working in a surgical inpatient setting
  • Proven experience in caring for patients following cardiac / thoracic surgery
  • A willingness to undertake relevant post-registration courses
  • Basic Life Support
  • A track record of Mentorship / Preceptorship with junior colleagues
