In this episode, Janet, a Student Nurse talks about how she finally decided to study Nursing and her life journey that led her to it.

Career Development

I'd like to kind of tap into your unusual backgrounds which I think is amazing that brings you to where you are today and the person, wonderful person that you are and the reason I mention that is obviously because within that, there's a little bit of career development.

When The Time Is Right

I knew that I wanted to be a nurse when I was around about 16, 18, but I also knew that I wasn't ready two years ago, when we dealt with COVID and finally I decided enough is enough, I'm not running away from this anymore.

We all have our personal tutors and we have links attached to the placements that are there with us all year. They're on hand whenever we need them, equally, the staff in the hospital, we've got assessors and supervisors there too.

The Rewards of Knowledge

And when you start to actually break down what you're capable of doing in the day now, I love that feeling of when something isn't a mystery to me anymore.

Life Long Learning

That's a really great thing about nursing. There will be another nursing role out there because that's the nature of the job is that there are hundreds of different types of nurses in hundreds of different settings.
